Tourism Authority of Thailand Chiang Rai is launching a special ‘Weekday Pay Chill Chill’ promotion to entice visitors to join in outdoor and soft adventure activities in both Chiang Rai and Phayao provinces.
The programme, which started in April and ends in June of this year is offering multiple tour packages on weekdays for a special price, following the success of its ‘Blooming Chiang Rai’ event in December of last year.
WiSut Buachum, Director of TAT Chiang Rai and Phayao said, “Both provinces have tourism infrastructure in place and offer deep artistic and cultural opportunities for visitors such as art galleries, artists’ studios and homes, temples, as well as natural attractions, perfect for outdoors activities.
Chiang Rai has been appointed ‘Sports City’ by the government, in the 2019 Sports Tourism budget, and that year saw multiple sporting activities in the province. Visitors can enjoy paramotor rides, take ATV and UTV on adventure trails, get to visit multiple tribal groups and learn of their culture, visit the locals living by the banks of the Kok River, cycle around the city, visit farms, get a thrill from zip lines, join Sup Chiang Rai, and visit the Singha Park. As to culture, the province has multiple important temples and is home to some of Thailand’s greatest artists, making for a vibrant art community. This promotion aims to attract Gen X and Gen Y visitors to help boost the local economy.
