Doi Phaya Phiphak or Phu Long Thang  is 6 kilometers from the Thoeng – Khun Tan – Chiang Khong Road. It features a high hill overlooking the views of 4 districts: Amphoe Phaya Mengrai, Amphoe Khun Tan, Amphoe Wiang Kaen, and Amphoe Thoeng. The hilltop of Phu Chi Fa can be clearly seen here since it is around 18 kilometers away. In the past, this hill was a strategic point for a battle between the government and the Communist insurgents. On February 27, 1982, His Majesty the King visited the hill. Later, the battle ended. Phu Long Thang has a beautiful landscape, culture, and temperate plants.
